So good ole' Mother Nature made a tough go of our last month's Green Drinks event so this month we are planning to have 2 events to make up for it!
I am pleased to announce that The Innovation Center @ Rochester Institute of Technology and Dave Vail have been kind enough to donate their space & time to do a strawbale construction demonstration! Dave is a good friend of mine and has been a strawbale contractor for at least 13 strawbale projects in the Northeast. If you are interested in building with bales, Dave is your guy! For the demonstration, Dave will be plastering a strawbale test wall (just a few bales) for everyone to see plaster ingredients, placing bales, construction tips, ect. Dave and myself will also be presenting strawbale AND cordwood techniques at 2 April Earth Day events (Cornell Coop Ext & Hamlin Beach ). Spring is coming which means outdoor hands-on workshops, events, tours and presentations to come!
Also....As a response to the many requests I have received to learn more about this company, I have been talking with executives at WindTamer for a while now tyring to get a Rochester presentation of their next generation in wind harnessing technology. We have tentativly scheduled 10am -12am, Saturday, March 20th at the Visual Studies Workshop on 31 Prince St, Rochester....I will notify everyone if there are any changes/cancellations.
