Hello all,

Wow, what a turn out; we had over 200 people (including a few out-of-stater's) show up as Mark Matthews & the Windtamer Team came out to give 2 presentations! The entire turbine and inverter system was on the trailor to show this residential (the smallest of the 3 models) turbine. We learned WindTamer turbines only need to stand the height of a flagpole; don't kill birds; durable, easier to maintain and less moving parts than traditional turbines. The $64,000 question was cost.....Mark Matthews says. "The pricing below is based on the standard installation on a 25 foot pole mounted on a concrete footer and grid connected through an inverter:

54GT-1000: $12,500
80GT-2000: $17,500
96GT-3500: $25,000

This pricing does not reflect federal and state grants and tax incentives that will reduce the overall cost of the installed unit as much as 50% or more depending on your location and how the property is zoned.

We can look at pricing for multiple models with discounts and can perform an onsite demonstration with our model unit."

DON'T FORGET!!! STRAWBALE CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP THIS SATURDAY, March 27th!!!

I am pleased to announce that The Innovation Center @ Rochester Institute of Technology and Dave Vail have been kind enough to donate their space & time to do a strawbale construction demonstration! Dave is a good friend of mine and has been a strawbale contractor for at least 13 strawbale projects in the Northeast. If you are interested in building with bales, Dave is your guy! For the demonstration, Dave will be plastering a strawbale test wall (just a few bales) for everyone to see plaster ingredients, placing bales, construction tips, ect. Dave and myself will also be presenting strawbale AND cordwood techniques at 2 April events (see our calendar an Rochester Green Living.com). Spring is coming which means outdoor hands-on workshops, events, tours and presentations to come!

Look forward to seeing you all!

Cheers,

Peter

About Us

Our goal is to help lower the environmental impact of the homes and lives of those living in the greater Rochester area. To reach that goal we provide workshops in sustainability, promote local green events, provide a free local resource in sustainable information, and create connections to other green organizations throughout New York. We hope we will be the first stop on your journey to a deeper understanding of sustainability.
